About Us
Tri-State Civitan is one of 28 clubs located in the Chesapeake District of Civitan International and was charted on March 26, 1996. The Club meets at 6 pm on the second Monday of each month, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Hagerstown. Dinner is prepared by the ladies of the Church and is available for purchase. Meetings consist of educational programs presented by guest speakers, fellowships, and discussions on how Tri-State Civitan can make a difference in the community. On an annual basis, Tri-State Civitan begets nearly $12,000.00 to fund requests from individuals in Washington County. Requests may cover costs of medical and dental needs, summer camp, specialized computer equipment, therapeutic horses, and music lessons for individuals with disabilities who have been unable to find funding elsewhere. Currently, we have 40+ active members who are involved in a variety of fundraising and service projects that benefit individuals in the community with developmental and intellectual disabilities. Opportunities are available to make a difference, contact us about becoming a member. Be our guest at an upcoming meeting to find out what Civitan is all about.
“You are here for a purpose. There is not a duplicate of you in the whole world; there never has been, there never will be. You were brought here now to fill a certain need. Take time to think that over”
Lou Austin
