CIRC
Civitan’s flagship project, the Civitan International Research Center (CIRC) is located on the campus of the University of Alabama at Birmingham and was established in 1989. Made possible through an ongoing financial commitment from Civitan, this world-class research center is a center for groundbreaking research into disorders such as autism, Down syndrome, brain tumors, epilepsy, and many more. It is the 1st institution of its kind in the United States to focus solely on research on developmental disabilities. The mission of the Civitan International Research Center is to improve the well-being and the quality of life of individuals and families affected by intellectual and developmental disabilities.
